Just watched Anvil on BBC 4 - a masterpiece. Just like being in a band. Playing in front of your mates can be no fun whatsoever. However it will be next month. If we make it in one piece through rehearsals. Haven't actually spent much time in one room together. In fact we've only ever done five songs together live as the line up stands. So it's going to be interesting one way or another.
Been out in the garden to see the International Space Station pass over Penketh.
Waved but no one looking. They must have been watching highlights of MOTD or Glastonbury. http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/cities/view.cgi?country=United_Kingdom®ion=England&city=Manchester The Lotharios must one day do a gig in space. Does anyone have a telephone number of someone who can arrange this? Hang on do you need a passport? Because mine is out of date. Maybe next year. We had a great rehearsal on Wednesday evening even though only four lotharios turned up - one was in paris, another in brussels, another at glasto - jetsetters all.
DGs keyboard is broken, so he had to use the one I bought for £2.50 at St Helens car boot sale (haggled down from a fiver). It is a Yamaha PSR 75 and it has real keys made from plastic elephants. It is better than his old keyboard by miles, and even though he put the batteries in it, he still owes me £2.50. And unlike plastic elephants I never forget. Thanks to Roscoe Studios for providing us with last minute space, and for dancing with sunglassess on in the control room next door. Sadly, we found out later, they weren't listening to us. |
